It is great to know that even after more than five years since their last release Hallig are at the top of their game! Hauntingly beautiful melodies and vocals that pierce right through the mist that lies so heavily over the Ruhr. Paired with two incredible new tracks from frisian heores Friisk this makes a split that is as breathtaking as the North Sea itself.

While Ofte jeg drømmer mig død will most likely always be my favourite Afsky album (being one ov my favourite albums in general), Om hundrede år ticks all the boxes I hoped it would: the calm and simultaneously depressing folk elements are there; the wailing screams of a forlorn spirit, forced to eternally wander the woods (apt comparison, deadpunk!); the harsh, bitterly cold guitar riffs and the ultimate realisation of life, death and our inevitable undoing. Exactly what I want. Recommended! David Fischer

Every track on this album is perfect. Hard to pick a favourite but the opening with Einklang and it's segue into Dem Wind entgegen is amazing, gets me everytime VB_Stubby

Listening to Ultha is comparable to standing in front of a marauding grizzly bear completely without any defense whatsoever: overpowering, hurting, and most likely lethal. Their hallmark blend of atmospheric black metal is among the most entrancing I have ever heard and should serve as an inspiration for other bands. Instead of just adding a layer of synth and calling it a day, Ultha goes the extra mile - they play with depth, exertion and your expectations, resulting in a transfixing voyage. David Fischer
